Cindy Urrutia, MSMFT
Cindy is a bilingual master’s level Marriage and Family Therapist having worked extensively with the Migrant population in south Georgia. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University. She has presented at conferences and panels working to inform the Latin community about mental health issues. She has also volunteered with adoption agencies, after school programs, and homeless shelters.
She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families with a variety of issues including grief, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, infidelity, divorce, blended families, adoption, grief and loss, self-development, multiculturalism, and immigration. When working with clients, she believes that empathy, curiosity, and compassion in therapy are essential tools to help create a safe space for change.
Cindy takes take a systemic approach to exploring individual and relational problems and uses a combination of Narrative, Bowenian, and Emotionally Focused Therapies. She also believes in a strength-based approach to helping clients bring forth change.
