Claire Davis, MSMFT
Claire is a master’s level Marriage and Family Therapist. She is currently working on her PhD in Mind-Body Medicine, specializing in Integrative Mental Health. She enjoys working with teenagers, individuals, and couples. She has experience working in a variety of community mental health settings, including private practices, psychiatric inpatient hospitals, and residential treatment centers. She believes that therapy should be holistic -working with the whole person, not just a simple set of symptoms- and so she incorporates emotional, cognitive, physical, relational, and spiritual aspects into the therapeutic process as needed.
When working with individuals and families, Claire uses a blending of Experiential and Narrative therapies. She is Level-2 Gottman trained, as well as certified in Prepare-Enrich, and she uses both of these evidence-based practices in her work with couples, in addition to Emotion-Focused Therapy. She has had several years of experience working with teenagers, in a variety of therapeutic settings. She has also received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and is passionate about incorporating mindfulness-based practices into therapy and in life.
Some of Claire’s more specific interests are in working with trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, and identity formation.
